Pottery 3, Recent Greenware

Wanted to share a few pieces I’ve been working on over the last week. They are “greenware”, or unfired. Dropped into a puddle, and they become mud. They will have tor dry at least a couple of weeks before firing, and probably much longer until there is a kiln’s worth of pottery to fire.

The first two are yarn bowls, one for Tami and one for a friend. The cut out is for a string of yarn to be pulled through, while the bowl holds the ball instead of it taking off across the floor.

The next piece is a funeral urn for a dear friend. For at least two decades, every time we talk, she asks, “where is m urn? I’m not going to last forever!”
