New(er) House in Brandon FL

Here are the things we have done in our new home. First, our new living room. All of our pottery is from our home in VA, including pieces made by others. I built the shelves in the alcove, put together the mid-century modern cabinet under the TV, and installed the electric shades. The table is the root of a teak tree! We really love that piece!

We chose to repaint the house in a newer coastal look, and installed the lights and the numbers above the garage door (whew, that was a project!).

In our kitchen, we (had to!) replace the refrigerator, vent above the stove, a kitchen faucet, and the dishwasher. That was much more than we had expected to do. At that point I replaced the stove as well, which has a griddle I really like. In our lanai, we also got rid of the extra stove and replaced it with a dual zone wine cellar, and butcher block top and backsplash which I made.

We also chose to install two different magnolias in the front yard, in order to be able to take down a mature oak in the back yard for a pool that will be installed in October.

Other improvements include a water softener system, three new smart toilets, cameras at both doors, moving a Murphy Bed from one room to another, and all furnishings excluding the sofa and two chairs in the living room. Enjoy!
